In addition to the charities listed above, the Foundation is very proud of the support and contribution that it made to the annual Steel Tech golf scramble which raised considerable funds for Supporting Heroes! Supporting Heroes is a Louisville-based non-profit organization that provides support for families who have suffered a tragic loss of life of a loved one who served in the community as a fire fighter, police officer, or EMS personnel. The golf scramble was a huge success and the Foundation is very proud to have been able to donate substantial support to such a great cause!

Finally, allow me to thank some of our fellow Steel Techers for the work they do for your Foundation. The Steel Technologies Foundation’s 2016 Employee Committee consisted of Karen Biery, Emily Clark, Edward Favorite, Michelle Harper, Amy Hornung, Julie Linton, Tracy Miller, Sheila Sinsay, and Christine Turner. This committee meets monthly to approve donation requests, oversee “Plant of the Month” donations, gives financial stewardship, and provides guidance to the Foundation. The Committee reports to the Foundation’s Board of Directors, which consists of Mike Carroll, Beth Thomas, and Michelle Harper. A BIG THANK YOU to the entire Employee Committee, they have done a great job for the Foundation over the years!

If you’re a current contributor, thank you! If you’re capable of considering an increase of your donation, please fill out a new enrollment form which is attached. The form can also be printed from the Steel Technologies Foundation’s section located on the GoSTTX portal or it can be obtained by contacting your human resources coordinator. If you’re not a contributor, please consider donating in 2017. Remember every dollar you give is worth $2.00 with the Company match. One dollar a week is worth $104.00 per year after the company provides the matching funds! Any level of participation is greatly appreciated and supports our efforts to give back to charitable causes in our communities.

With your help, the Foundation is looking forward to making an ever-growing impact in 2017.

Sincerely,

Michelle M. Harper
The Steel Technologies Foundation Board of Directors
